Lariats

My lariat necklaces are long, unjoined stringings of freshwater pearls, gemstones or Swarovski crystals to tie or knot at the front.

Each end of the stringing finishes with a large (relative to the size of the main beads) gemstone or glass bead to add some weight and a touch of drama.

This style of lariat necklace is also known in French as a “sautoir” and was first made popular in the 1920s.

I made the lariat necklaces that are primarily pearls or gemstones. Another designer (the same one who made many of the Swarovski bracelets and exotic earrings in the store) made the lariats of Swarovski crystals.
